Dawn by the Ocean
A few years ago when my family took a trip to the Virginia coast we stayed in a hotel by the beach for a few days. Personally I thought the trip was alright, nothing amazing about the beach or the hotel but the last day I was there I looked out the hotel patio to see the sun rising over the ocean. It is hard for me to explain my exact feelings in this moment, but I was filled with emotion, the suns brilliant light shining over the ocean and the beach looked beautiful to me, and I just stared out over the ocean for awhile taking in this sight. I could smell the ocean salt, but the air felt pure and undaunted and opened my usually allergy clouded nostrils. It wasn't as if I hadn't seen a dawn over the ocean but this one in particular was much more spectacular than the others. The trip that week was also close to when school started so I also had to look back to the memories of the previous year and to look forward to the upcoming year. The view also reminded me of the vastness of that ocean and the fact that I may never experience that same beautiful dawn ever again, but each time the sun rises over the horizon I think about that morning dawn by the ocean.

A small injustice
Recently I've turned eighteen and now I wish to register to vote so I can help decide who becomes president in 2012. For the last year my political party choice was clear, Republican, known as the GOP. I've always been more Republican minded, I believe the most effective economy and society comes from one with the least government interference. Lately though I've had some serious doubts over joining the GOP as they have lacked many things following their majority takeover in the house. It seems they lack the deceisevness and the ability to come to terms with Democrats to make any types of changes, but this isn't that huge of a problem, as this issue as been plagueing congress for decades, but the real issue to me is the Republican's delaying of the making of a bill that would stop congress members from useing insider tradeing. This quite frankly disgusts me, it seems this people who are taking advantage of their appointed positions by having an unfair advantage over everyone else. This bill has been proposed for over six years so this show more than ever that with one hand congress scratches the back of their constituents and with the other their own back. We can only hope that someday a congress will exisit that has the sole intrest of the people at heart, but for now, we can only try to make our voices heard about this small but terrifying injustices.

My Fondest Memory
Altough it is difficult to say what is truely my fondest memory, one memory that stands out the most was my vaction to Universal Studios Orlando last year. From the start of my trip it was amazeing. My vaction truely began with my faimily's arrival to the hardrock hotel. The hotel was great with display cases filled with rock and roll treasure's like Jimmy Hendrix guitars, Lil Wayne sunglaess and any other famous artist you can think of. The park itself is huge and full of great experiences, my personal favorites where the Rip Ride Rocket rollercoaster which lets you choose a song to listen to while riding the roller coaster and the other was Harry Potter Hogwarts castle tour roller coaster. If your familiar with the Harry Potter series the ride is great with many surpries, but I can't tell you about it on the internet because I'm pretty sure it will violate copyright infringement and this article would then be deleted, but the roller coasters and the Harry Potter rides weren't the only reasons why I loved going to Universal Studios, the moments I had with my faimily where great too. Many things happened, like my faimily members being picked unusually often for events. For example when we went into Ollivander's wand shop my sister was picked out of the crowd for wand testing, which result in a real life event just like in the first movie when Harry tests out the wands. All of this was great fun and admist all of this fun my faimily was the happiest we had been in awhile and so that is why my week in Universal Studios is my fondest memory.

Reading in General
Since 3rd grade I've consistently read books, whether at home or at school, I have always enjoyed books. In fact, I believe my interest in reading has greatly helped to develop my English skills, as my SAT Reading score reflects that. Over time though my interest in book type has changed. At first all I would read was books about fantasy and fairytale lands, then when I got a little order all I read was books about real life and more adult adventures. Nowadays I can't stand reading a fantasy book and prefer a mystery or adventure book like lord of the rings, in fact lately I've even read books like Atlas Shrugged and Doctor Zhivago, long books that can be somewhat boring but I feel as if I gain intellectual concepts from these books. Even more recently don't feel like reading books as much lately, as I have little free time with work, sports and school. In the future I hope I can find the time to relax and just read like I used to.
