Education k-12, the modern day assembly line
Over the past 31 years the United State's education process has been in steady decline. Not only have average SAT scores, ACT scores and students' average GPAs have been falling, but also college attendance rates as well. These declines are largely due to the creation of the ED (U.S. Department of Education). The ED have created a learning environment for k-12 student similar to an assembly line, where students' schedules are split between 5-9 periods a day, each school has varying schedules but all are similar. In this assembly line atmosphere, students either excel or are simply left behind in the process. This atmosphere also dissuades individuality and rather promotes sameness between students, this is a huge mistake, because students individuality and creativity has pushed America to great heights in the past and straining it now will only further slow ourselves down.
